Comedy actor, Jim Varney who is best known for his slapstick style and his humorous portrayal of redneck Ernest P. Worrell.
Varney who died in 2000 at the age of 50, did numerous TV commercials usually talking directly to the camera and making it appear that he was talking to Vern, his neighbor.
He coined the phrase "Knowhutimean Vern?" (If you don't know, that's Southern drawl for: Know What I mean)
