I just watched that video, all of it ....such dramatics, it was def a faster paced time for those that lived it from mid teenager to early adulthood ....compared to when the whole Nirvana grunge Seattle movement came about following...
Now, I just dont know, some of the stuff my lil man listens to is a bit much!!
Guess, I am getting old.......  .....

But like a fine wine you get better with age ...hell, I will be 38 in 3 weeks...good God...  
I rememer also when Nirvana killed hair metal....but it was the kick in the ass rock needed to survive....alas Rage Against The Machine, KoRn, Coal Chamber and others!

I saw these guys in concert. They rocked!
Hair metal was my favorite. Never did care much for grunge. 
After hair metal I started getting into death metal.
legacy you are right. Rock did need a kick to survive.
