Um. I appreciate the mention, Jen, and a part of me wants to concentrate on the humor of it -- it sound exactly like a joke I'd make, in fact, but...
This lacks the sense of irony I'd have. It seems to genuinely blame the child and suggest that it's in the nature of children to behave horribly. I couldn't help but think that the caption at the end should have been "Don't raise your child this way."

The dad appears inept, out of his element; unprepared for the challenges of fatherhood.
Perhaps he should have planned better?

my youngest has done that to me once i beat his ass all the way to the car  he did it to his step mom alot i told her to do the same but she wouldn't he was 4/5

As a parent myself, I can honestly say that in this case, it's very obvious and to the point that you DON'T blame the child by any stretch of imagination.
No one in his right mind would read this film that way. This film is an overstatement. A giant overstatement that says child rearing can be difficult if not taken seriously and that the first step should be at the beginning and not taken lightly.
Your own actions or inactions may have incredible consequences anywhere from that first night in bed to those formative years of childhood.

Yeah, you're probably right. Like I said, I'm hypersensitive. I live in a neighborhood, in a city, where there are a lot of people not in their right mind regarding this sort of thing; I see anti-child sentiments everywhere, and a recent blog here (that went unresolved) has me still a bit on edge. Didn't mean to be a downer for anyone.

I would also like to add, MB, that America is not necessarily kid friendly. Having lived in Mexico for an extended period of time, I've seen the patience and understanding of a country that adores children. I could elaborate but I think you get the message.

no actually she left his father because she couldn't handle the kids and him  no discipline at all in there house  i was the only parent and still am that has rules and punishments for my children i do not like spanking my children but sometimes there is no other option  i have huge problems because NO ONE thinks that they should have bed times chores or be held responsible for their actions in any way they are now 12,10,9 and trash my house back talk me and have no respect for any rules  it's really hard to raise children when everytime you try to teach them something another ADULT butts there nose in and tells them not to listen when they were together i would return a phone call from my ex sometimes at midnight as i got off work late it would be a school night and they would be up playing video games unless you have delt w/ that you have no clue ( year old is very violent to the point where i have called the police on him and you know what they told me buy a big thick belt and beat his ass)

It's a simple statement here. If you want to have kids, know what you are getting into. Don't let lust control your life. It could be life threatening.
