I took this 360° clip in September of 2004 from the deck of the U.S.S. Lexington (CV-16), a.k.a. "The Blue Ghost," anchored near Corpus Christi, TX. The red spot you see on the right side of the "island," as it's called, is a Japanese Rising Sun flag denoting the exact location where the aircraft carrier was struck by a kamikaze plane in the Pacific Ocean in 1944, killing 50 of her crew members and injuring 132.
